Post Human Scouts

Yes, I'm a sad bastard and I've named them all.  I was going to call the last one Crowe but something about him reminds me of Prodigy's front man.

left to right: Frost, Drake, Hicks, Vasquez, Flint

I've only given one of them a camo cloak (folded up under the backpack) which probably makes them worthless in game as scouts.  I considered green sculpting some cloaks on them all but a) I don't like camo cloaks, b) I spent a stupid amount of time edge highlighting the armour and covering it up would be blasphemy, and c) I'm not that good at sculpting.

Have you ever been mistaken for a man?  No, have you?

Additionally, Red Scorpions don't really do camouflage anyway.  Imperial Armour IV: The Anphelion Project is quite explicit about it:

I guess she don't like the cornbread either.

"The Red Scorpions are known to have a profound dislike of covert operations in favour of meeting and defeating an enemy in open battle.  They consider this secretive kind of warfare as well as its attendant trappings, such as the use of camouflage and infiltration, as fundamentally dishonourable and shun them unless strictly needed."

I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit.

Which begs the question, why did I put a camo pattern on my Razorbacks?

Man, you look just like I feel.
Yeah. I might be overthinking this one.  Oh well, on to the next squad.

I'm the trouble starter, punkin' instigator

    1. Cheers, it took about 12 attempts. Painting black skin is harder than I thought.

    2. Once you get the hang of it, it's not that bad, but it's definitely a different technique/process from painting white folks.

  5. Those look badass, dude! Camo cloaks are certainly a good option, particularly for Sniper Scouts, but they're still far from worthless without them.

Hicks, with the helmet but no face plate, is reminding me of something, but I can't quite figure it out. I'm thinking like some old SciFi flick that seemed cheesy even when I watched it as a pre-teen in the 80s, or something like that.

The Alien references are awesome. Hopefully they'll have better life expectancies than those poor bastards did, tho.

    1. Thanks Westrider. A lot of people have said he looks like Megaman but I don't think this is what you are referring to. I dunno, maybe T J Lazer from Robobcop? And yeah, Aliens has got to be one of the most quotable films ever. Or maybe I'm just biased.

    2. I'm kind of thinking something Buck Rogers-ish now. Really not sure, tho.

Big Trouble in Little China is more quotable, but I can't think of anything else off the top of my head.

    1. Thankyou. Its a kitbash of a helmeted head and a bare head (as you've probably worked out from your next comment). I've had a lot of questions about it tho so I'll post an actual WIP photo of one when I do my next batch of scouts.

  8. Hey mate, great mini's. Just wondering, is that clump foliage on the base? Do you know what brand/type it is? It looks really good next to the static grass, and I'd like to try that combination out myself.
